Joe has 20 years’ experience of teaching and leading in special schools, latterly as a Head Teacher. She is privileged to have worked with children and young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, and more specifically with those with autism across the age range and spectrum, including extensive work with those with Pathological Demand Avoidance.

For the majority of this time Joe worked predominantly with students aged 14-19. This included building links with employers to find bespoke and meaningful work related learning opportunities across a breadth of experiences, for those with a huge range of differing and complex interests and needs. She supported both the young people and the employers in their understanding of each other and the requirements of their roles, and championed the development of these placements into paid employment beyond school.

Joe is currently providing consultancy, training and bespoke and person-centered advice and strategies to both mainstream and special schools and to young people directly through her company ‘SEND Support’ and as an Associate Advisor for Nottinghamshire County Council.

Dalmatian Systems Marketing Director, Katie Trinder said “we are delighted to have someone with Joe’s experience speaking at our conference, she has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to working with students with special educational needs and how positive career destinations can be achieved”

Other speakers at our “Joining the Dots, from Student to Employee” conference, include Martin Rigley MBE from LIndhurst and Detective Inspector Les Charlton from Nottinghamshire Police.

The conference is free to attend and designed to support educational professionals in understanding the impact digital lifestyles can have on their students’ progression into the workplace, how that data can be used more effectively to produce accurate alumni data at the touch of a button, and provide you with the tools to do this.

The event is free and will take place at Mansfield Town Football Club  on 25th April 2017 between 9am and 1pm and refreshments will be provided.

There will be plenty of opportunities to network as well as there being marketing opportunities via our strong press, radio and social media coverage.

Places are limited, but there are some still available. If you and / or any of your colleagues would like to attend, please RSVP to Katie@dalmatiansystems.co.uk detailing any specific dietary requirements you may have.

We look forward to spotting you there!
