This year, Team Dalmatian and Ransom Wood, will once again be getting involved with the shoebox appeal for the homeless in Mansfield and we’d love for you to get involved!

This is an appeal that was close to the heart of our founder Ken Trinder, who sadly died from cancer last year and his daughters Katie and Lucy, who now run Dalmatian want to continue doing this in his honour.

Shoe boxes 2017
Some of the shoe boxes collected for last years appeal

If you’re based in Mansfield and would like to get involved, then the idea is that you fill a box with necessary items and some treats.

It doesn’t have to be a shoe box; a normal box is fine. All they ask is that they are wrapped but not sealed so they can check all the boxes before they are given out.

Boxes are for men, women or dogs but please label the gift as such to make it easier.

Team Dalmatian are happy to collect locally, otherwise you can drop off your donation to Ransom Wood Business Park reception, which is based in Ransom Hall. Find directions here.

If you’re looking for inspiration, common items include;

  • Baby wipes
  • Deodorant or Soap
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Chocolate /snacks (long sell by date)
  • Hand warmer
  • Sanitary Towels (if ladies)
  • Gloves
  • Hat
  • Rain Poncho
  • Torch
  • Seasonal Card note or even a short letter.
  • Dog treats
  • Lead
  • Bowl
  • Dog toys
  • Seasonal novelty

PLEASE: No alcohol-based products (mouthwash, hand sanitiser) or razors.

All the donations will be taken to the Mansfield Soup Kitchen on the 7thDecember, so please make sure that all donations reach us before then.
